Volunteer Opportunities for Lunar New Year Celebration Jan 29th, 2011

Descriptions

SET UP

Help set up tables, chairs, string lanterns, tents, string lighting and hang banners
Shift: 8:30-11am

INFO BOOTH

Greet guests, give out program guides, address guests’ questions (most common questions are regarding location of restrooms and schedule of event)
Shifts: 11am-1pm / 1-3pm / *3-5pm (*includes some cleanup)

SURVEY ADMINISTRATORS

Roam event grounds and administer brief Celebration survey.
Shifts: 11:30am-1:30pm / 1:30-3:30 pm

WRAP UP

Take down tents, tables, chairs, lanterns, lights, banners and trash pickup
Shift: 4-5:30pm

RABBIT COSTUME

Walk around event site in a rabbit costume greeting attendees and taking pictures.* Lead Children’s Parade Contest from 12:30-2pm shift only. *Parade begins at 1:30 - 2pm 
Shifts: 11-12:30 / *12:30-2pm / 2-4pm

CHILDREN’S PARADE

Assist children in the Lunar New Year Children’s Costume Parade and help clear area from audience leading to entertainment stage.
Shift: 1- 2:30pm

YEAR OF THE RABBIT COMPETITION

Assist contestants inside the Cultural Pavilion who enter their rabbit in the Year of the Rabbit Competition. Greet event attendees and assist with rabbit judging questions.
Shifts: 11-1pm / 1-3pm / *3-5pm (*includes some cleanup)

CULTURAL PAVILLION

Assist children on how to play with Chinese Yo-Yo’s
Assist children with bookmaking 
Assist children at coloring page table
