The Chinatown-International District welcomes you to the 2013 Lunar New Year Celebration! The Lunar New Year Celebration is the most important festivity in the Chinese Lunar Calendar and brings thousands of families to participate in authentic cultural activities featuring coloring contest, face painting & balloons, calligraphy drawing, origami, temporary tattoos, and games and activities throughout the District. There is nonstop entertainment throughout the day including Lion and Dragon dances, Taiko drumming, martial arts and our fourth annual Children’s Parade Contest where kiddies can strut their best New Year’s cultural outfit on stage! Bring your family and friends to this exciting and unique cultural experience you can only find in the Chinatown-International District!

Celebrate the Year of the Snake by treating your taste buds to a trip around the world at the 3nd Annual Lunar New Year Food Walk on Saturday, February 9th!  Restaurants across the Chinatown-ID will be offering a variety of $2 tastes from China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, and beyond!  Sample (and collect stamps) from FOUR (4) or more restaurants and you will be eligible to enter a drawing for a NOKIA LUMIA 822 Windows 8 Smart Phone provided by Verizon!  Simply return the stamp card to the information booth during the Lunar New Year Celebration!

The Uwajimaya Chinatown-ID Lunar New Year Scavenger Hunt Presented by Verizon

The Lunar New Year Festival is coming — but the Snake is missing! Starting on January 18 through February 9, you can take part in finding the Snake by participating in the Uwajimaya Lunar New Year Scavenger Hunt presented by Verizon!

4th Annual CHILDREN'S COSTUME PARADE & CONTEST!

Bring your children and friends to enter into our third annual Children’s Parade Contest presented by Northwest Asian Weekly where they can show off their best cultural New Year’s outfit on stage! Parents are welcome to accompany their children on stage. Judges will announce winners and prizes! You can preregister by downloading the application HERE or sign up on the day of the competition.
