Safety Ambassador Data Collection
The purpose of the data is to both track the interactions of the ambassadors and also to help paint a clearer picture of what every day life is like in our neighborhood. Note that the data shown should be taken with a grain of salt. The ambassadors work from 2PM-10PM and can only be at one place at a time. Above is roughly the 1500 interactions and incidents that the ambassadors have handled.

Do you feel that the ambassador program ?
| Concern |
Response from the CIDBIA |
| Ambassadors should be on foot more, spending less time on bikes. |
With the bikes the Ambassadors were able to address businesses quicker, but that lead to less community engagement. Currently the Ambassadors are travelling by foot, but we are looking for a middle ground to allow for timely responses. |
| Ambassadors should have a list of people who cause problems and be more proactive about removing or deterring them before they cause problems. |
The Safety Ambassadors are working with LEAD/REACH on the Seattle Neighborhood Impact Framework to create cases on individuals in the neighborhood. Through case conferencing we are able to connect them with resources to get better and to find housing. |
| Ambassadors should do more to address people doing drugs in public. |
Ambassadors are hired security. They do not have enforcement capabilities such as police officers. Due to liability, we cannot physically stop people from doing drugs. But we are able to talk to people and de-escalate and try to dissuade from public drug use |
