Safety Ambassador Data Collection
The purpose of the data is to both track the interactions of the ambassadors and also to help paint a clearer picture of what every day life is like in our neighborhood. Note that the data shown should be taken with a grain of salt. The ambassadors work from 2PM-10PM and can only be at one place at a time. Above is a heat map of approximately 150 incidents in the CID/Little Saigon Area.
Data from collected from Quo: October 1st - November 18th.
Above is data from our phoneline.
The Safety Ambassador Program has been active for 6 months now. Overtime businesses and community members have been able to learn how to utilize the ambassadors to help with deescalating situations. We are in the process of expanding our reach. I am working with InterimCDA, SCIDpda, and CISC to create a Wechat group to help connect the non-english speaking Chinese residents.
Unfortunately the invite to the Wechat Group QR code expires. You can find me on Wechat at Lhxo91 to get an invite to the group.
Don't forget you can text or call the ambassador everyday between 2PM-10PM! 206-202-7314

CID CPTED INTERVENTION PROJECT
Over the past two months the CIDBIA, in partnership with SCIDpda and FLS, have been working with numerous businesses in our neighborhood to apply CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) principles to create a safer environment.
I am currently working with more than 20 businesses in the CID to repair damaged property and install security improvements. This process takes time, so I will provide a more comprehensive recap next month detailing the total amount of funding we were able to distribute to businesses in the CID.
We are working with the Office of Economic Development through the Back to Business Fund to help reimburse damages to storefronts that have had damages since July 2024. If your business is in need of repairs and security, please contact Christopher Yip.
